Terms and Conditions

The Actors Class

These Terms and Conditions apply to all students enrolled in The Actors Class, including group classes and private lessons, operated by Richard Lindsell. By enrolling in or attending any class, students (and parents/guardians where applicable) agree to the following terms.

1. Course Structure – Group Classes

The Actors Class is delivered across four separate terms, each running for nine (9) weeks.

Each term covers a specific topic:

  1. The Foundations of Acting

  2. Scene Work and Character Development

  3. Screen Acting Technique

  4. Industry Skills: Showreels and Self-Tapes

Each term is self-contained, and students may enrol at the beginning of any term without having completed previous terms.

2. Class Schedule and Size – Group Classes

  • Classes run once per week

  • Each class is two (2) hours in duration

  • Each term consists of nine (9) classes

  • Class size is limited to a maximum of twelve (12) students

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis once full payment has been received.

3. Private Classes

Private classes are offered for one (1) or two (2) students and are booked on an individual session basis rather than by term.

  • Private classes may be booked as:

    • Single lesson

    • Three (3) lesson package

    • Six (6) lesson package

  • Lesson duration, scheduling, and content will be agreed upon at the time of booking

  • Packages must be used within the timeframe agreed at purchase

Private lessons are subject to the same conduct, media, and payment terms outlined in this document unless otherwise stated in writing.

4. Fees and Payment

  • Group classes: Full payment for the term is required before the start date of the term

  • Private classes: Payment is required in advance according to the selected lesson or package option

  • Enrolment or booking is not confirmed until payment has been received

Fees secure a place and are non-transferable once the term or booking has commenced.

5. Attendance and Missed Classes

  • If a student misses a class or private lesson for any reason (including illness, scheduling conflicts, or personal circumstances), no refund or credit will be provided

  • Students are responsible for their own attendance and punctuality

6. Postponed or Cancelled Classes

If a class or private lesson is postponed or cancelled by the instructor:

  • A make-up class or lesson will be organised where possible

  • If a make-up cannot be reasonably scheduled, a refund or credit for that specific class or lesson will be provided

7. Refunds and Credits

  • Refunds (where applicable under these Terms and Conditions) will be processed within two (2) weeks after the end of the relevant term or booking period

  • Where a student continues into a subsequent term, any eligible refund may, by agreement, be credited toward the fees of the next term

No refunds are provided for missed classes or lessons.

8. Showreels and Filmed Material

  • Showreel shoots are scheduled separately from regular class times

  • For students attending the full four-term program, showreel shoot days will be scheduled after the completion of the final term

  • Shoot dates are subject to availability and will be confirmed in advance

Payments and Editing

  • Pricing applies per actor

  • Fees must be paid in full prior to filming

  • Turnaround times for edited footage will be communicated at the time of booking

  • Final edited footage will be delivered digitally

The Actors Class reserves the right to limit filming time, number of takes, or material adjustments to ensure fair and professional use of shoot time.

The Actors Class does not guarantee casting outcomes, representation, or employment as a result of showreel participation.

9. Media Consent

Media Recording for Educational Purposes

By enrolling in The Actors Class, students (and parents or guardians where applicable) acknowledge and consent to photography, video, and audio recording during classes for educational and training purposes only, including:

  • Scene recording and performance review

  • Acting exercises and skill development

  • Creation of showreel material for the student

Promotional Use (Optional Consent)

Use of photos or recordings for promotional or marketing purposes (including websites, social media, or advertising for The Actors Class) will occur only where explicit opt-in consent has been provided via a tick box at enrolment.

Promotional consent is optional and is not required for participation in classes.

Students Under 18

For students under the age of 18, all media consent must be provided by a parent or legal guardian at the time of enrolment.

Withdrawal of Promotional Consent

Promotional consent may be withdrawn at any time in writing. Withdrawal applies to future use and does not affect materials already published.

10. Parent / Guardian Consent (Students Under 18)

  • Enrolment for students under 18 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian

  • The parent or guardian confirms permission for the student to participate in all class activities

  • Communication regarding enrolment, attendance, scheduling, and payments may be directed to the parent or guardian

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring the student understands and complies with these Terms and Conditions.

11. Behaviour and Participation

Students are expected to:

  • Participate respectfully and professionally

  • Treat instructors and fellow students with courtesy

  • Follow all safety, conduct, and studio guidelines

The instructor reserves the right to remove a student from a class or lesson due to disruptive or inappropriate behaviour. No refund will be issued in such cases.

12. Changes to Course Content

The instructor reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to course content, exercises, scheduling, or structure where necessary to meet educational objectives.

13. Liability

Participation in acting classes involves physical movement and performance activities. Students participate at their own risk. The Actors Class is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to personal property.

14. Changes to These Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will be available on the website.
